Teaching/Research Assistant

Research/GIS/UAV Survey

Plan and execute FAA-complaint UAV flight missions and mobile laser scanning surveys to acquire aerial imagery and lidar point clouds in urban and forest environments
Process lidar and photogrammetric datasets to generate orthomosaics, digital elevation models (DEMs), digital surface models (DSMs), and 3D point clouds/meshes/Gaussian Splats
Perform georeferencing using ground control points (GCPs) and coordinate system transformation to ensure spatial accuracy
Convert and integrate 3D data into GIS formats (e.g., 3D tiles, LAS/LAZ) for visualization, analysis, and sharing
Develop and maintain workflow documentation, processing parameters, and metadata to ensure reproducibility and data integrity
Undertake field mapping with Emlid Reach RTK GNSS Receivers and the Emlid Flow app to collect accurate coordinates
Validating and organizing GIS data (land use, code violation, transportation, etc.) and developing interactive web graphs and maps using ArcGIS Pro/Online to track changes resulting from the Johnson City Redevelopment project

Geographic Information System

Designed, implemented, and maintained a geodatabase database for development permit applications to improve archival record and retrieval for planning staff
Provided hands-on training to municipal staff on GIS as a planning and decision-making support tool
Configured and deployed mobile data collection platforms such as ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123, and QField and created python automated workflows to streamline data processing and updates
